Michelle Hodgson

She/Her
Fisheries Biologist (CMM)

Michelle Hodgson is a Project Lead in the Department of Aquatic Resources & Fisheries Management at the Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq (CMM). In addition to her work as a Project Lead for the Mainland Mi’kmaq Marine and Coastal Stewardship Project, she will be supporting and collaborating with the CERI team in all endeavors related to Eelgrass. Her love for being outside in nature and desire to protect and conserve the natural world around us has directed her path to completing a BSc and Honours program in Ecology. Both during and post degree, she has gained experiences in projects that include monitoring initiatives for species as risk, coastal restoration initiatives using Nature Based Solutions and invasive species monitoring. Despite having experience across a variety of different projects, she is really looking forward to learning more about Eelgrass and its potential role in mitigating climate change! Outside of her work interests, Michelle also enjoys hiking in the forest, foraging for mushrooms and moving outside with her hula-hoops in hand.
