Melissa Holborn
She/Her
Postdoctoral Fellow
Melissa is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Dalhousie University in the FOME lab where her research will focus on the genetic response to climate stressors on local Nova Scotian eelgrass. Bringing the meadow to the mesocosm, her current project will look at differences in gene expression in several populations of eelgrass via a controlled thermal treatment in Dalhousie’s Aquatron facility. Building on her previous conservation genomics experience, this research will be applied to future restoration efforts by selecting more climate-resilient donor populations. Although new to nurturing eelgrass plants in the lab, Melissa is an avid indoor and outdoor gardener.
