Markus Kienast

Markus investigates ocean biogeochemistry, past and present. Specifically, his research focusses on both a mechanistic understanding of how key ocean and climate processes are recorded in sediments on the sea floor and application of this knowledge to the reconstruction of key global change events from the sedimentary record. His research provides uniquely important observational constraints on rates and amplitudes of ocean and climate change.
