Kylee Lightbody

Kylee recently graduated in 2025 from Dalhousie with a BSc in Marine Biology and Environmental Science. In 2024, she assisted CERI as a scientific diver, to help with eelgrass transplanting in the community. Now, Kylee has joined our Blue Carbon team to help assess the carbon held in eelgrass systems in Nova Scotia. Kylee is passionate about key species supporting benthic ecosystems and is also working in the Metaxas lab, where she is researching kelp and deep-water corals around the province. Outside of work, Kylee enjoys everything to do with the ocean (SCUBA, freediving, and surfing) and hiking whenever an opportunity presents itself.
