Chambrie Iron

She/Her
Summer Intern

Chambrie is joining CERI for 8 weeks this summer as our very first intern! She is from Canoe Lake Cree First Nation in Northern Saskatchewan which is located in the middle of the Boreal forest. Chambrie’s interest in our project stems from her interest in sustainability and environmentalism – specifically how our replanting events can translate to replanting on land. She is going to school in the fall (Selkirk College) to become a Forest Technologist in the hopes to help forestry become a more sustainable practice. Her decision to get involved in Forestry came from an international aboriginal youth internship to Uganda that was hosted by the Jane Goodall Institute and BC First Nations Forestry Council. During this she gained experience in tree planting, community engagement and much more! When she is not working she can be found drinking coffee, reading or playing video games.
